Lullabye
2023

site-specific sound installation performed on faux rock outdoor speakers

Lullabye is an eerie soundscape composed of overlapping audio tracks played across outdoor speakers that are designed to look like rocks in order to blend into the garden atmosphere. The speaker(s) play the age-old song "Rock-a-Bye Baby" at various intervals and altered speeds. When played at a slower speed, the nursery rhyme, which is already ominous in its message, becomes even more haunting—devolving from its familiar melody into guttural, monstrous noises.
